β-地中海贫血是最常见的遗传性血液病,影响着包括伊拉克在内的发展中国家和发达国家的数百万人。地中海贫血患者需要频繁输血,这会导致多种并发症。一些研究已经探讨了ABO血型与疾病之间的联系。ABO血型与地中海贫血的关系尚未得到广泛研究。为了根据年龄、性别和血型频率了解地中海贫血的患病率,对200人进行了一项研究,其中100人是对照样本,被视为标准样本,而其余100人感染了β-地中海贫血。该研究旨在找出与对照样本相比,血型表型频率与地中海贫血易感性之间的任何关系。我们的研究结果表明,女性患者的地中海贫血患病率高于男性患者。发现于15-19岁的最低年龄组。ABO血型的频率为O>B>a>AB,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。患者的Rh因子与对照组相比有显著性差异(P<0.01)。目前的研究表明了所研究血型的重要性,因为它们是检测遗传β地中海贫血风险或其出现可能性的变异性的来源,并且可以与遗传咨询中的其他实验室测试一起使用。
