衰老是组织和器官功能随着时间逐渐丧失的过程，与生命体的寿命直接关联。随着我国已进入老龄化社会，老龄人群比重逐渐升高，伴随的各种心血管疾病、癌症等发病率也逐年升高。而衰老又是心血管疾病、癌症等多种重大疾病的共同危险因素。因此，阐明衰老机制将为防治多种疾病带来希望。本文以衰老机制在动脉粥样硬化作用及近年抗衰老相关中药进展做一简要综述。
