1998年，美国迪士尼公司制作发行动画片《木兰》，用美国人的眼光审视了这个古老的东方故事，以美国人的文化取向对中国乐府诗《木兰辞》原有的精神内核进行了文化解读，并在全球赢得票房佳绩。该电影在当今文化融合的背景下也引起学界思考。本文以《花木兰》为研究对象，运用文化传播的概念理论，讨论了中西方人民的文化差异，这种差异体现在各自的历史和思想差异中，因此，我们不仅要理解文化的差异，还要对其有足够的认识，促进中西文化融合，以避免文化交流的失败。
