In 2021, the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education was officially released by the Ministry of Education and the State Language Commission, and it has been officially implemented as the State Language Commission's language and writing standard, which will comprehensively guide the development of Chinese language education in Bulgaria from the theoretical, ideological and practical aspects. This paper will review and study the Bulgarian Chinese Proficiency Test for the last twenty years, using questionnaires and data analysis to explore the opportunities and challenges facing the Chinese Proficiency Test. At the same time, based on the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education, the research will propose future development strategies for the Bulgarian Chinese Proficiency Test.
