In the current preschool education, more and more experts and educators attach great importance to the use of various resources for preschool English teaching, among which English picture books have their unique advantages. This paper makes a deep research on the practical application of English picture books in children’s English teaching. It makes a thorough analysis of the current teaching situation in kindergarten by means of observation and interview, and finds that the use of English picture book teaching method can effectively improve children’s learning interest and English ability. It is found that how teachers make full use of picture books in English teaching and how to design and organize picture book activities have a key impact on improving the effectiveness of children’s English learning.
