The Teaching Reform of the Course on Interchangeability and Measurement Technology with a Focus on Student-Centered Teaching

The course on interchangeability and measurement technology (hereinafter referred to as CIMT) is a practical and fundamental course with strong applicability in mechanical engineering majors. Its research content mainly includes part inspection and precision design, among others. This course is characterized by its extensive content and high level of difficulty. As a result of the development of the new engineering discipline, a number of courses have started to introduce teaching changes that prioritize student needs by focusing on course content and teaching methods. CIMT is not an exception, as its conventional teaching models are no longer able to meet the increased requirements imposed by the existing educational system. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to explore the teaching reform of CIMT with a focus on student-centered teaching (hereinafter referred to as SCT). Starting from the current teaching situation, it analyzes the existing teaching problems and proposes a series of teaching strategies based on the characteristics of the course and the reasons for the problems. The aim is to unleash students’ innovative abilities, place students at the center of learning, and improve the teaching effectiveness of CIMT.
