English is a second language that Chinese students need to learn, and it is difficult for students to avoid various problems during the process of learning English. Among them, the separation of learning and application is currently one of the main problems in English teaching, which directly affects the effectiveness of English teaching and learning. To solve this problem, many teachers have begun to explore effective teaching methods. The output oriented approach that adheres to the principle of "integrating learning and application" can start from the three teaching processes of output driven, facilitation, and evaluation, assisting teachers in effectively solving the fundamental problem of separation of learning and application in English teaching. This method not only promotes students' input and learning of English knowledge, but also promotes their language application, comprehensively improving their language and cultural abilities, and solidifying their ability foundation for continuous learning, career development, and personal growth. In view of this, this article focuses on the teaching of maritime English in higher education institutions. On the basis of clarifying the concept, it focuses on exploring the strategies of blended teaching of maritime English under the guidance of output oriented approach, hoping to provide reference for English course teachers.
