With the continuous evolution of modern teaching concept, physical education classroom teaching is facing the change from the traditional mode to pay more attention to the cultivation of practical ability. The purpose of this study is to explore the application of sports training in physical education classroom and its effect in volleyball competition. Using the method of literature, questionnaire and experimental statistics, this paper analyzes the role of sports training in physical education from four aspects: technique, tactics, rule knowledge and psychological quality. The experimental results show that integrating sports training into physical education classroom can significantly improve students' volleyball skills and competition performance, especially in serving, receiving and cooperating ability. In addition, through sports training, students' sports competitive psychology has also been effectively improved, including competition courage, teamwork consciousness and anti-pressure ability. Therefore, this study believes that combining the theoretical knowledge of sports and sports training is an effective way to improve the effect of sports classroom teaching and the level of students' volleyball competition, which has important practical significance in education.
