College English Course Group and Teacher Professional Development based on the Idea of OBE

Abstract: Guided by the idea of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), this paper explores the relationship between the construction of college English course group and teacher professional development. This paper first introduces the basic concept of OBE, and constructs the college English course group on this basis. Then, it analyzes the important role of the idea of OBE in teacher professional development. Finally, this paper puts forward some collaborative strategies for college English course group and teacher professional development based on the idea of OBE, including crystallizing the teaching objectives, optimizing and integrating the teaching content, and innovating and implementing the teaching methods. The research shows that college English course group and teacher professional development based on the idea of OBE promote each other, which is helpful to improve the teaching quality of college English.
