Studies on artificial intelligence application status and progress in higher education and teaching

The use of artificial intelligence technology in higher education and teaching has grown to be a major area of study with its maturity and broad scope. First, this paper examines the present use of artificial intelligence in higher education, mostly with reference to intelligent teaching assistants, online learning environments, automated scoring systems and so on. The development trend of artificial intelligence in higher education and teaching is thus prospected, including the development of intelligent teaching system and the application of big data in teaching evaluation, by means of the analysis of pertinent literature and practical application cases both at home and abroad. According to the studies, artificial intelligence presents fresh difficulties for educational fairness and data security even if it may efficiently increase teaching efficiency and satisfy the demands of individualized learning. Therefore, the area of higher education has to actively investigate the integration method of artificial intelligence and teaching, and focus attention on analyzing and addressing relevant legal and ethical difficulties. For the reform of higher education, this also offers strategic thinking and a fresh research approach.
