Reflections and Implications of Situational Teaching Approach in English Teaching

As a teaching approach centered on authentic contexts, situational teaching approach holds significant theoretical and practical value in English language education. This paper first traces the developmental trajectory of situational teaching. Subsequently, it analyzes the characteristics of situational teaching. Furthermore, the paper elaborates on its pedagogical merits in aligning with new curriculum standards, enhancing language comprehension and retention, fostering cultural awareness, and reducing learning anxiety. Practical application strategies are then proposed. Finally, the challenges in its implementation are addressed. The study aims to explore situational teaching approachs and reflect on their effective application in English classrooms.
