Internet buzzwords have become iconic in the digital age, reflecting contemporary social interactions and cultural phenomena. This paper analyzes the buzzwords “栓Q and 老6” from a sociolinguistic perspective, exploring their origin, popularity, and cultural background. By studying their grammatical and pragmatic features, the paper reveals the traits and rules of current buzzwords, discussing their impacts on young people. The rapid rise of “栓Q and老6” on Chinese social media demonstrates the influence of buzzwords, shaping language habits, social interactions, and cultural identity. However, similar buzzwords can lead to “literal aphasia,” causing harm. Studying buzzwords offers insights into social language in the digital age, exploring language change, cultural identity, and social interaction. A deep dive into “栓Q and 老6” provides a fresh perspective on Internet-era language and culture, highlighting the need to address “literal aphasia.”
