Abstract: The Deer and the Cauldron is a world-renowned martial arts novel created by Jin Yong, a modern Chinese writer. The English translation of Minford, a British Sinologist, has made more international readers understand Chinese martial arts literature and martial arts culture, and played a positive role in its introduction to the world. The research objectives of this study are the famous translator Minford and his translations of The Deer and the Cauldron, and the purpose is to explore the translation style of Minford from the works. Based on the corpus research method, this paper adopts the quantitative analysis method to study the translator’s language characteristics and the dissemination of martial arts culture in Minford's English version.
