文章摘要
Abstract: Hard Times is a mid-career masterpiece by the English novelist Charles Dickens. Compared with the light-hearted and optimistic tone of his earlier works, Dickens is more critical in this work. In this paper, we will apply Lu Shuyuan’s Spiritual Ecology Theory to make an in-depth interpretation of Hard Times, analyse the performance of the protagonist Louisa’s spiritual ecology imbalance, the reasons for it, and how to rebuild the balance of the spiritual ecology, and then emphasize the importance of building a harmonious spiritual ecology.
