文章摘要

This article provides an in-depth analysis of the female characters in Jiao Zhongqing's Wife, revealing the oppression and difficulties faced by women in feudal society. The article first outlines the creative background of Jiao Zhongqing's Wife and its position in the history of Chinese literature. Then, from the perspective of female images, it focuses on analyzing the roles of Liu Lanzhi, Jiao's mother, and others, showcasing their complex appearances under feudal ethics and parental systems. Liu Lanzhi, as a victim of feudal ethical oppression, embodies the traditional virtues of women in feudal society with her image of diligence, kindness, and loyalty. At the same time, her struggles and sacrifices also demonstrate women's desire and pursuit for free love and marriage. As a representative of the feudal patriarchal system, Jiao's mother's image of being unreasonable and controlling reveals the constraints and suppression of individual emotions and marital choices by feudal ethics. Through the analysis of these female images, we further explore the decisive role of feudal ethics and parental systems in the fate of women, as well as the devastation of these systems on women's spirit and society. Finally, this article points out that the path of women's liberation lies in breaking free from the shackles of feudal systems and pursuing freedom and equality. Through the analysis of the female characters in Jiao Zhongqing's Wife, this article aims to provide a new perspective and reflection for understanding the status of women and the awakening of women's consciousness in feudal society.
