Through the review and arrangement of Master Hongyi's works, this paper clearly outlines his history, living environment, cultural background and educational experience, and probes into the formation and development of his Wei stele style of writing. From Hongyi's works, we can better understand the development process of calligraphy in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, and understand the important influence of Hongyi on contemporary calligraphy.
