Wenjie Zhou

The "85 New Wave" can be regarded as a miracle in the history of Chinese art, and is one of the most important art movements in the history of Chinese art in the 20th century, which represents the leap of Chinese art into another new world. The "85 New Wave" also had a profound impact on Chinese art in many ways. Installation art in China began in the 1960s, and in just a few decades it has developed into a major mode of expression for contemporary art. Huang Yongping was a central figure in the "85 New Wave" art movement and a leader of the "Xiamen Dada" movement. This paper focuses on the development of installation art in China after the "85 New Wave", and takes the works of Huang Yongping as an example to be analyzed.
