Everything I Never Told You is a masterpiece of Chinese writer Celeste Ng. The story uses a combination of flashbacks and interludes to trace the cause of the death of the female protagonist, Lydia, and reveals many social problems hidden behind the tragedy, such as bullying in schools, racial discrimination, gender prejudice, family education, etc., which is of profound practical significance. Based on the post-Freudian trauma theory, this paper mainly analyzes the traumatic experiences of several main characters in the work, and explores and reveals the causes of their trauma.
