A Study on Translation Quality Assessment in Translation Teaching from the Perspective of Appraisal Theory

With the rapid development of the translation industry, bridging the gap between industry and academia in translation quality assessment (TQA) has become a crucial issue. Based on the Appraisal Theory from Systemic Functional Linguistics and incorporating methodologies from corpus linguistics, this study establishes a comprehensive TQA model that integrates qualitative analysis and quantitative assessment. Through a translation teaching experiment, the feasibility and effectiveness of this model in practice are empirically validated. The findings demonstrate that this assessment model can optimize the multi-dimensional evaluation mechanisms in translation pedagogy and enhance the professional adaptability of students majoring in translation, thereby providing both theoretical foundations and practical guidance for the high-quality development of translation education and industry.
