This study compares the use of adverbials in modern Chinese and English from a syntactic perspective, aiming to uncover their differences and impacts on language understanding and practice. It analyzes the parts of speech, positions, and functions of adverbials in Chinese through case studies. Based on these findings, the study explores the similarities and differences between modern Chinese and English adverbials in terms of syntactic position, type, function, and semantic orientation, aiming to reveal their distinct roles in sentence structure and their impact on language comprehension and usage.
